Meet our customer - Stork AS
In 1935, a man from the Netherlands arrives in Stockholm, Sweden and establishes the company Stork AB. By this time, electrification had begun in many cities and the need for sockets and switches was growing. Almost 30 years later, Hans Stork takes over his father's company, which is increasingly focused on importing automation products for sale to Swedish industry.
In 1983, Stork AS is established in Oslo, a subsidiary of Stork AB. The business idea is the same - import and sale of automation products. It was not until 1993 that a department for the import and sale of electrical equipment was established.
Stork AS currently has 22 employees and is located at Kolsås. It still consists of two departments: the electrical department, which supplies products to electrical installers and the wholesale market. And the automation department, which supplies equipment to shipping and other types of industry.
Stork has both import and direct sales, which means they can offer competitive prices. In addition, they are a smaller company where there is a short path from idea to decision - which opens up the opportunity to turn around quickly if needed.
And since Stork can supply both the control system and the lighting to the same building, this allows them to assume total responsibility. This gives customers greater certainty that everything works as it should.
Stork becomes an iSYS customer!
In 2012, work began on creating a new catalog. Through employees in the company, Stork got to know iSYS and they started a collaboration with what was then called "iSYS PIM". Based on this solution, a new catalog was created, and it became the basis for when Stork would switch to a new website. Since then, there have been several major upgrades to what has now become feed® PIM, which Stork uses.
feed® PIM is used by Stork for their 9,000 articles and they use the data on their website, as well as for catalogs and the EFO database. Steinar Alvestad, head of the electrical department and technical manager at Stork, emphasizes that the ability to update the EFO database directly from feed® PIM is worth a lot. He also says that the need for the ETIM module is growing and that today it is essential to have such a solution.
Stork AS may be a "small" company, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are a highly competitive company with a rich history.
