Stadion AS can be presented as a new customer and user of InStock.

Stadion is not like most chains. While the other sports chains focus on uniformed stores with similar products, Stadion cultivates individualism and diversity. Sports and outdoor life are about leisure, pleasure and achievement.

With Stadion as a new customer, we've added new functionality to standard InStock, making the solution even bigger. A newly developed ERP service against Visma Business ensures good integration with ERP and at the same time the solution is integrated with Consignor for good flow with transport and logistics.

We believe that we have very good control of our flow of goods/logistics. We have good control routines from when the goods are on the ramp until they are received, picked, delivered to our stores, inventory counts and invoice receipt.

In addition, we know when our purchases are expected to arrive at our warehouse and work proactively accordingly.

What we also know is that behind all these control routines lies a lot of manual work that is a real cost driver. We have addressed this and run thorough processes.

There are many WMS suppliers in the market. We started scouting around a year ago, and for us it was important to find a partner and not a supplier.

WMS is alive and constantly evolving, which is why it was important for us to find a partner we could work with over time.

Some of the main requirement specifications in the project:

  • Finding a partner The stadium can develop together over time.

  • A WMS that is a finished product with development opportunities in terms of growth and smart solutions.

  • A WMS as a support tool and flexibility.

  • Operational stability and support, delivering hardware adapted to the system.

  • A partner that could offer a predictable cost framework for the system, but also an expected saving in relation to the investment.

Integrasjonssystemer AS stood out early in the process of choosing partners and InStock WMS. They presented a finished product that we immediately knew suited us very well. A cost frame that can definitely be calculated and is predictable.

The way InStock was presented was very professional and reassuring. One thing is the product to be delivered, but the road to operation can be demanding if you do not set up proper project phases and do a thorough analysis together in advance.

I'm convinced that much of the reason for the success we've had with the implementation lies in good pre-projects. 

In the project meetings, we have clarified, discussed and reached a mutual understanding and expectation of the project. This also avoids unforeseen costs afterwards, as it's very clear what will be delivered and the division of responsibilities.

Another recipe for success has been to involve our employees in the warehouse in the process. They are the ones who have the "shoes" on their feet and know where the pressure is. This has clearly contributed to a smooth implementation. Now we have a system that they have become familiar with in advance and have been involved in deciding on, which also means that we are very confident in our choice of InStock.

After a few weeks of testing, we went live with InStock from the beginning of October 2020 and the start-up has gone very well. Employees have noticed a significantly better flow in their work tasks and it's gratifying to see the enthusiasm that exists these days. Some run-in noise must be expected, as this is a large project that must work together. The "little" we have had was continuously cleared out of the way.

We have a completely different flow and frequency in goods receipt, order picking and dispatch. InStock has already begun paying back its investment.

We now have a more digital everyday life where there is less and less paper handling week by week. We have adopted electronic goods receiving, which provides a completely different efficiency and is cost-saving. Our goal is to eliminate paper completely and make the entire flow digital.

We have a location system that provides very good control. At the time of writing, we are preparing fulfillment lists based on orders per day.

It allows us to be proactive and fill locations before they would normally be empty throughout the day, giving order takers better flow and fewer stops.

Integration systems base much of their hardware on Zebra products. "We already know these products through our label printers. Now we also have handheld terminals of the same brand and they work perfectly.

Good communications, clear display with clear selection functions and lightning-fast scanning.

A prerequisite for success is to have a good network in the warehouse. We knew before the project started that it was an uncertainty factor for us. It quickly became clear that we needed to upgrade our network and replaced everything.

Here, too, we were taken care of by Integration Systems and put in touch with one of their subcontractors. Within a week this was in place and everything works perfectly, in addition to a competitive price.

For the future, we envisage a long and fruitful collaboration with Integrasjonssystemer AS. Cost-effective logistics is more important than ever. At the same time, it's fresh and you have to be forward-looking, find good solutions and adapt to the world out there.

Our logistics will also be a competitive advantage for our stores. We are very pleased and confident that we will have a long and fruitful collaboration with Integration Systems and can play each other well.

Another important point is that we are now part of a larger community where good input from other customers can become good solutions in InStock that everyone can benefit from.
